Snapping Turtle Mimbres Replica Bowl
This bowl is a replica of a Mimbres design from the prehistory of Southwestern United States of America. The people of the Mimbres culture disappeared to extinction approximately circa 1150 A.D. but are still known for their diverse and fantastic bowl paintings of the natural world that surrounded them. This Snapping Turtle bowl was hand crafted and intricately painted using homemade brushes and fired in an outdoor ground pit. It emerged glowing red hot from wood coals, but when cooled and dusted from the ashes of time appeared as it would have then a thousand years ago. If you love archeology and appreciate the raw beauty of the primitive arts, then I believe you will not be disappointed in this one of our replications of prehistoric designs.
